New shoes

Since Emerson is officially walking, it was time to get her some shoes.  I searched high and low for the cutest pair and came across some adorable shoes.  Here she is in her silver Pedipeds.  Can't you just see how proud she is?

Projects Galore!

The clock it ticking.  Here is a sneak peek.

My new love

I love my husband because he is kind, thoughtful, and spoils me rotten.  He knew I have had my eyes on a new pair of cowboy boots...so what does he do?  He suprises me with two of my favorite things right now....cowboy boots and turqouise.  I am so smitten with these boot!

We have a new house

Yes, David and I love building new houses.  The whole process is exciting to us.  In fact, we have built 3 houses in 8 years.  We would probably build more if it were not for the market, the packing and moving, and the fact that we love our house and neighborhood.  We are here to stay for the long run.  So no, we are not getting a new house, but Emerson is getting one all to herself.  A dear friend dropped by a sweet, little dollhouse for Emerson.  Not only does Emerson love her new house, but so does Hayden.  Now, I just need to furnish this cute little house.  I will probably have to wait a while to furnish this house because I just know Emerson will try and eat the little, wood furniture.  For now, she is having a blast opening the windows and roof and banging on it.

Sweet, Smart, Sassy, and Spicy

This is my kitchen most days...
Because this little girl...
Learned how to do this...
And this...
And learned to open the spices with her two bottom teeth...
And look like an angel...
And a face full of cinnamon makes her so happy!
And makes me laugh too hard to even mind the mess I have to clean up...twenty times a day.

Learning to read

Over the past few months, Hayden has really taken an interest in reading.  He has always loved books, but was never really interested in learning letters or phonics.  I noticed one day he was really trying to sound out words and started asking me what certain words spell.  It was like all of a sudden, it clicked.  It is really hard to keep Hayden's interest, probably any boys interest at this age, so I thought about what was Hayden's favorite thing to do.  That is easy...eating snacks.  So I picked up some Cheez Its and he had a blast reading and spelling words.

11 months

It is true...you are 11 months old and full of feist.  I still think of you as my tiny, little baby who sleeps beside our bed in the bouncy seat.  You are not so tiny anymore, you have tripled your birth weight and weigh in just over 18lbs.  However, you still seem just too small to be walking.  That is right, you are pretty much done with the whole crawling thing.  You are steady on your feet and are now walking more than you crawl.  You are full speed ahead and you will see from the 11 month photo session...you refuse to sit now that you have learned a new skill.  However, it will be a big relief to have you up off the floor, because I am hoping you will not find so many small objects to put in your mouth.  You have three teeth up top and still two on the bottom.  I still rub your head, but it is not fuzzy like it used to be.  There is actually hair, not just peach fuzz, and maybe just enough for a tiny bow.  I wonder how many bows and barrettes we will lose over the years, I have a feeling you are going to pull them out of your hair and maybe even try and eat them, like you do everything else. The color of your hair is still a mystery.  A lady the other day said "Aww, look at that blonde".  Other people have commented on the red in your hair.  I just can't wait for you to have hair because I am so over the question "Is it a boy or a girl".  You nap twice a day which is nice, but yet I sometimes feel like I am confined to the house.  You get up between 5:30 and 7:30am and then go back down two hours later for your first nap.  You usually take a good two hour nap.  Then you go back down around 4:30 for your second nap which last about an hour.  I feel bad, because I have neglected you with your food choices.  I give you the same things, carrots, peas, cheese, bananas and cheerios.  I tried eggs and you were not having it.  I really need to start introducing you to new, healthy, foods.  You just started saying DaDa and Bye Bye.  Bye Bye is by far your favorite word..You are so proud, because you learned to clap.  All we have to do is say YEA...and you start clapping those little hands and smile showing your little teeth.  In fact, the other night I put you down for the night and through the monitor I could hear you clapping a good 30 minutes before you decided to go to sleep.  Every day it seems like you are doing something new, it is hard to keep up you are growing and changing so fast.  So, this is the last update before you turn the big O-N-E.  This year has truly gone by in a flash.  You are loved more than you will ever know, dear Emerson.  We can't wait to celebrate your first year!!

This photo session was a bust!!  First, you refused to sit.  Second, you decided that the sticker was better off in your mouth than on your shirt.  I pretty much just totally gave up on getting a good picture this month.  However, the ones I did get are classic!!
Can you see the hair hanging over her ear?
Yep, here is were it all goes down hill

So long cute sticker

Check out my foot!

Happy Fall Y'all

Fall is officially here, even though the temps are still in the 80's.  I still feel it in the air.  Football season is in full gear, the leaves are changing colors, and jeans, sweaters and boots are calling my name.  The crock pot is out and I even cooked up the first batch of taco soup.  There is something magical about fall..  I was inspired today to do a little photo shoot with the kiddos which means bribing Hayden with everything under the sun.  He got a milkshake and I got some great pictures!!  That made us both happy.

Coversations with Hayden and Emerson

Today I was in the kitchen putting up some dishes and had left Hayden and Emerson in my room to play.  This usually does not buy me too much time, but enough time to throw some dishes in the dishwasher. It was a little quite, more so that usual, so I peeked around the corner to check and see what kind of trouble they were getting into.  My timing could not have been more perfect...this is what I caught Hayden doing to Emerson...
 I

Heart or Love

You
He caught my eye, flashed a big smile my way and went on his way.  I don't think he realized I caught this moment in time and would probably be too embarrassed if I did.  These are the moments that make me the most proud as a mother.  I will forever hold on to this memory.
