Conversations with Hayden

I am truly amazed by the things kids say and ask. Hayden Is full of questions and comments that floor me. On the way to choir last night, Hayden asked..

Mom, does God have a mother?

I thought, wow, how do I answer this question without getting to deep and confusing. So the best I could come up with was...

Well, God is very special and he does not really have a mother.

Hayden waited a minute and replied..

But Mom, there is nothing more special than a mother.

He sure has a way with words.

WHO YOU ARE TODAY

A big thanks to Angela from www.ramblingsfromtheanimalfarm.blogspot.com for the picture of Emerson!

Emerson's new favorite tricks

Little miss Emerson has always been one pull some crazy stunts.  She is quiet and stealthy and always threatening to give me a heart attack.  You take your eyes off her for one second and she will be dancing on the coffee table.  She thinks it is great.  One second she is in pantry and in the blink of an eye she is on the coffee table.

Another trick she has most recently taken an interest in would be taking of her diaper.  That is right, she can pull that diaper right off in about half a second.  One minute she is cooking in her kitchen and the next minute she is carrying her diaper in the frying pan.  She really likes to take her diaper off in her crib along with her shirt.  I don't have a clue how she can get her shirt off, but she is a professional.

And her latest trick, sneaking into the shower.  I turned on the shower to let it warm off, threw my clothes in the laundry basket and she was gone.  I had the bedroom door shut so I knew she could not have gone far.  Checked under the bed and all through the closet and then I heard Hayden laughing and yelling to come see Emerson.  There she was...diaper and all enjoying a shower.  I tried to pull her out, but she was having none of it.  So, she took her first real shower and loved every second of it!!

Four Christmas's

We get to celebrate a lot of Christmas's...one in Memphis, one in our house, one with Smith's and another when John and Kathy came in town.  That's right, we had our own four Christmas's.  That means a lot of family time, food, presents and picture taking.  Here are some of my favorites through the Christmas holiday.

Happy New Year

It is going to take a while to get used to saying or writing 2012. Another year behind us and a pretty good one it was. Hopefully, 2012 will bring us nothing but happiness. I have to say I have a feeling it is going to be a big year. January 1st already brought us a first...breakfast made by Hayden. Don't know where it came from, but he really made us all breakfast, by himself. It was not gourmet by any means, but it was perfect in every way and he was so excited and proud. My favorite part, he had Cheerioes and a glass of milk on Emerson's high chair. He would never leave out Emerson. For me, a bowl of honey Kix and David, a mix of Rice Krispies and Frosted Flakes. He fixed himself a bowl of Special K. I think by next year he will be cooking us biscuits and gravy...and serving us in bed. I don't think I could come up with a better way to wake up to in 2012. May the odds be in our favor in 2012.

Christmas Presents in Pictures

So one day, when we look back at Christmas of 2011, we will see how truly blessed we are.  We must have been really good this year.  One of my favorites had to be the way too small Batman pajamas that Hayden demanded to wear even though they gave him a serious wedgie.  Or maybe it is the sweet rug he made of our family, or the crosses he made and wrote Jesus for his cousins.  Maybe it was my new Tory Burch bracelet or iMac or iPhone.  No, it was excitement on everyone's face and spending time with the ones I love.
