A Dr. visit for two

I wanted to get it all knocked out in one day, shots for two kiddos that is.  That was quite the experience, not sure one I would want to experience ever again. Griffin and Emerson were both due for shots and their 4 month and two year check ups.  They both did great and all was good until Emerson got all of her shots.  The poor, baby  girl was more upset about Griffin getting his shots tham she was getting her own.  She was shaking like a leaf and screamed every time he got poked.  It was heart breaking to see them both so upset.  The rest of the day Emerson would cry at the thought of the band aids on her legs.  She might have been just a little dramatic.  All I can say is thank goodness she doesn't have to get shots until her three year appointment, I am hoping she might forget how awful shots are,  but it is doubtful.  Here are the babies stats-

Griffin at 4 months 7 days-
14 lbs 4 ounces 24%
25 inches 37%

Emerson at 2 years 5 months
29.5 lbs 64%
35.5 inches 60%

A perfect check up!  Two healthy, growing babies.  I couldn't ask for anything more.

A date with my baby girl

It's hard with three to get special one on one time with each of them, but it is so important to me that I make time for them.  I have started doing a gymnastics class with Emerson on Thursday mornings and she is loving.  Just the two of us, no big brother picking on her and no baby brother demanding my attention, just me and my baby girl. So spring is finally here and this week the weather has been amazing.  I decided Emerson and I would have a special date and go to the zoo.  Now, she is not a big fan of animals (except kitties) so I knew this could be hit or miss.  As we walked in, the first animals are the monkeys and when she spotted them she jumped in her stroller and said "let's go home".  Not off to a good start so we started heading off in another direction and all of a sudden the monkeys started swinging from tree to tree and Emerson laughed and laughed.  From that moment forward she was sold...the zoo was awesome.  She had an absolute blast and I had so much fun with her.  Not one fit, until we got to the car and she realized we were leaving.  She was worn out, but talked about the monkeys, zebras, elephants, and snakes the whole way home.  I can't wait until our next special date!

3 and 4 month check in

Oh my, I am a little behind on Griffin' monthly post, but really there has not been too much to report. You still are only sleeping about 4 hour stretches at night.  I am so ready for you to do some 6-8 hour stretches so momma can get some sleep.  I can't even get frustrated with you because the moment your eyes pop open you are flashing your smile that just melts me.  Both Hayden and aemerson would scream the moment they woke up, but you, you are just happy as can be.  You are as laid back as it gets and love to be talked to and held by anyone.  I'm wondering when strang er anxiety will kick in or maybe it never will with you.  You can lift your head up very well and can roll over in both directions.  You are pretty much obsessed with having your fingers in your mouth ans sucking on them.  You are super drooly which makes me wonder if you might have started teething.  This week you have started reaching for objects.  It started while MiMi was holding you and you discovered your toes. You wre pretty amazed by your little piggies.  You are packing on the pounds and have chubbied up to be quite the little chunk...double chin and all.  We have noticed you have a dimple in your chin and you look like an old man with all the hair you have rubbed off the back of your head. This past weekend you were supposed to get baptized, but Hayden and Emerson came down with te stomach bug.  We had to cancel and have rescheduled for May 12, Mothers Day weekend.  I sure hope you will still it in the gown.  It has been a busy two months and you are changing before our eyes.
