Summer 2013

It's been a fast and furious summer.  The end is near and we are winding down and preparing for school for both Hayden and Emerson.  Our summer consisted of summer camps, trips to the lake
and a week with Mimi and Pop Pop, hanging out with friends, and slow, easy mornings.

July 4th Trip

Our annual beach vacation, the one we so look forward to every year, ended up not being exactly what we were expecting.  Usually, there are days filled on the beach with sun and fun.  This year there was some fun, but no SUN.  We had three days of sun the whole trip and the rest was a complete wash out. Though it was not exactly what we had in mind, we made the best of it.  The guys went deep sea fishing, Hayden got to zip line at Baytowne, the drove silly cars and played with best friends.

That is Hayden above Baytowne on the zip line

We pretty much gave up hope and decided to head north to the lake and see if we could catch some
sun.  It took us seven hours to make it there because of all the rain, traffic and wrecks, luckily the kids were seriously angels.  The only one fussing was me.  We lucked out with rain and even got to see some fireworks since they were cancelled at the beach due to weather.
