My pajamas are too tight

Last night I grabbed this kids pajamas out of the dryer.  We got Emerson dressed and put to bed.  Next, it was time to get Hayden ready for bed.  I threw him his pajamas and he started to get dressed as David and I relaxed on the couch.  We are not paying attention to Hayden, but it seems as if he is having an issue getting his shorts on.  A few seconds later we hear Hayden.."Ugh...my pants are way too tight".  Dave and I look and by this time we are hysterically laughing and confused.  I just could not believe that the shorts to his pajamas had shrunk that much, I mean he just wore them and they were pretty big.  David and I were crying we were laughing so hard, they looked just like spandex, biker shorts.  Hayden began peeling off the shorts and set them down.  I picked them up to study them and it was then that I realized these were not Hayden's shorts.
That is right, I grabbed the wrong green shorts...these were Emerson's as you can tell by the ruffles.  Who knew he could fit into a pair of 0-3 month leggings.  I kind of think the look is growing on me.  I really don't think I have laughed this hard in a long time.

Sneaky boy

You would think I never fed our poor child, he is always sneaking around getting food.  It's not even for sweets, just anything he can get his hands on.  The past few time I have gone upstairs to feed Emerson and put her down from a nap, I have come down to find this-

Yep, some half eaten strawberries.  My favorite was walking down the stairs and hearing the Dorito bag crunching.  We had just finished lunch and I put the Dorito bag up on the counter.  Sneaky boy stuck his hand in that bag and just about finished it off.  He was so proud of himself.

7 months

Another month down, each month seems to go by faster and faster.  It must be because everyday you are doing something new.  Your first tooth has finally broken through your gums.  It is about time, your teeth seem to be stubborn.  I can see the other bottom tooth, but it still has not broken through.  You are eating so much better.  You get so excited when you see us making your food.  You are eating fruit now and love it, you even some what enjoy green beans and peas.  Your sleeping pattern is still not great.  You usually take a morning nap about two hours after you get up.  The afternoon nap we do not have down yet.  You sleep from 8 pm to anywhere between 3:30 to 4:30am.  Sleep training here we come.  The past two night I have had to let you cry it out when you get up at 3:30am.  The first night you protested for about 30 minutes.  Last night was better, only about 15 minutes.  Hopefully, you will get the hang of it and we will all be sleeping through the night again.  Either way...you are so worth losing a little sleep over.  I believe my life it about to change, you are almost on the move.  You get in the crawling position and are starting to rock.  I have a feeling in the next two or three weeks you will be crawling everywhere.  Looks like we will be baby proofing the house soon.  Since you can't crawl yet, you spin in circles and somehow get to where you want to go.  Hayden is very interested in puzzles at the moment as are you.  You do everything you can to get over to his puzzles and tear them apart so you can get a piece in your mouth.  Hayden is so, so patient with you, but I can see his frustration building when you get a hold of his puzzles.  I have a feeling you are going to keep us all on our toes.  Love you baby girl!!

First sleep over

Hayden had his first sleep over with his buddy Jacob.  Of course, Jacob had to spend the night with us because Hayden refuses to sleep at anyone elses house.  I can see many late night phone calls, in the future, because Hayden has a "stomach ache" and can't sleep over at that person's house.  Well, the first sleepover was a complete success.  Jacob did wonderful and the boys had a blast.  They begged to stay up late and watch a movie...staying up late for them is 9:00pm.  They were worn out from swimming and playing so it was pretty easy to put them to bed.  They were both sound asleep, curled up in their sleeping bags on Hayden's bedroom floor by 9:30.  They were up bright and early at 6:45am, ready for breakfast.  As they ate, I listened to their conversation-

Hayden-Jacob, do you want to spend the night with me again?

Jacob-Yes, I want to spend the night forever.

Hayden-And that means you can be my brother.

They were both so sad when Jacob had to go home.  Poor Hayden cried and said he wanted Jacob to spend the night forever.  Then he went on to tell me-

"Mommy, Jacob had a bad dream last night.  And I told him that when I have a bad dream that I just think about Jesus."

That boys is something special!!

Memorial Day Weekend

As always, we spent Memorial Day in the lake.  It was a wonderful trip hanging out with the family.  There was a lot of swimming, boat napping, jumping, swinging, eating, drinking, Jeep riding, smores eating, family bonding and best of all...streaking.  Here are some of those great memories from the weekend at Smith Lake...
