Late Summer Fun

Sharing some fun we had towards the end of summer.

Hospital Trip

Well, we knew it would happen, we just didn't know who it would be.  We should have know, it was Emerson who sent us on our first hospital trip.  I went upstairs to put Griffin down for a nap to hear Emerson screaming in my room.  She was laying on the bed holding her arm.  Now my Emerson, she is a tough girl, not much she can't shake off, but she screamed for a good 30 minutes and I knew it was time to go get her arm checked out.  I just knew it was broken as she would not move it and just held her wrist.  It was so pitiful.  David met us at Williamson and we sat a good hour to get X-rays.  Emerson kept saying we were going to the "nursery" to see the nurse,  I think that is so funny.  Its not the hospital, but the nursery where the nurses work.  The X-ray showed no broken bones, so they sent her home in a splint.  She was so pitiful.  To this day, I don't really know what happened.  In her words "I was jumping on the bed and my leg squished my arm REALLLLLY hard".  Let's hope this is it for the hospital trips.

Emerson heads off to school

Well, I can say that sending Emerson off to her first, ever, day of school was much different than dropping off Hayden at his first day.  Hayden screamed and cried from the moment we left the house, to the time I picked him up.  Emerson, she ran down the hallway to her classroom, which happens to be the same class Hayden had when he was four and the same teacher, Mrs. Amy.  Emerson is very familiar with this classroom as it is also the nursery where she has spent a lot of time in during church.  So, once she stepped foot in the class, hung up her little backpack, the tears and screaming "NO" started.  I ran out of that room as fast as I could and was crushed to hear her in there mad as a hornet, not sad, but MAD!!  It all flashed through my head as I realized great, I have another Hayden on my hands, my Monday's and Wednesday's are going to be a fight to get her to school.  Ahhh!!  I stressed the whole two hours, as it was a short day to break the kids in.  I was anxious to know how she did and as I walked down the hallway and peeked in, I came across Emerson dressed from head to toe in Cinderella dress up attire.  When she finally saw me she flashed a big smile and ran and gave me a big hug.  I knew she was 100% sold on school when I saw her face and heard all about her new friends Avery and Caroline, and how they all play dress up.  What a relief!  After her first day, we walked to Sweet CeCe's to get a treat with her best buddy, Wyatt.  We have not had anymore tears since that first day and she so far loves going to school and playing dress up with her new friends.  I can not say what a huge, deep, breath I can take knowing that she loves going to school.  I am so proud of my Emerson.

Griffin is 9 months

You are now full on trouble.  You try your best to keep up with Emerson and Hayden.  You are already standing up and holding on to things.  I have a feeling you will be my early walker.  You have a mouth full of teeth and lets just say they have grown in a little bit out of order.  We call you Dracula or  vampire boy and think you might make an awesome vampire for Halloween.  You had your first, little head injury.  Your sweet sister might have given you a little push and you fell right into the metal toy shopping cart.  Poor baby, it hardly phased you, but not much phases you.  You are just the most happy go lucky little guy ever.
